Is There Anything Sadder Than A Foolish Old Person

I once knew a foolish old man.
 
He was a professor who lived vicariously through his students.
 
He threw tantrums, called names, and pouted when he didn’t his way, and this often happened when he found yet another student who wanted to live their own life rather than the one he wanted them to live. 
 
When I became the object of his anger, the prayer came to mind:
 
Lord, don’t let me get to be that old and have no wisdom. 
 
Is there anything worse than a foolish old person?
 
This is what happens when we live the same year 60 times instead of getting 60 years of experience. 
 
So in all your getting, get wisdom and be a little wiser each year.

Proverbs 29:11  A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Ephesians 5:15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
