Sunday Thoughts About Prayer
I wrote the other day about how much we should pray—enough to walk like Jesus through our day.
But today, thinking about it from another angle.
Mark 9:14-29 shows the story of the father of the demon possessed boy who tells Jesus: “I believe! Help me overcome my unbelief!”
The disciples had been unable to deliver the boy from the evil spirit.
Jesus laments the lack of faith in that current generation.
He grants the father’s prayer for more faith.
He rebukes and commands the evil spirit to leave.
He raises the boy up from either death or a catatonic state.
When the disciples, who had kicked spirits out of others, asked why they had been unable to deal with this one, Jesus simply said that this one is a particular kind that can only come out by prayer.
THE POINT:
We must have Jesus with us when we are facing evil, and this will:
We get Jesus with us by prayer. More prayer, more faith, more Jesus.
How much should we pray? As much as we can stand!
More prayer, more faith, more Jesus

- Increase our faith
- Make miracles possible
We get Jesus with us by prayer. More prayer, more faith, more Jesus.
How much should we pray? As much as we can stand!
