Today Is Eternal

Lord, let today be the best it can possibly be.
I know this could be my last day alive on this earth.
I know this is the first day of eternity.
I know I’m likely to wish this day away…
thinking about the future…
working toward some future goal…
Lord, don’t let me miss my life.
I pray for all of us.
This is the day that the Lord has made—let’s rejoice and be glad in it.
Today is eternal life.
Today I have the work I was called to do…for this day.
Today I have the people I was put here to love.
Today I have the gospel to preach, Jesus Christ to save sinners.
Today I have friends to care for.
Today I have a wife to kiss and kids to raise.
Today I have enemies to love.
Today I have prayers to pray.
Today I have fun to have.
Today I have rest to take.
Today I have bones to heal.
Today I have truth to seek and truth to tell.
Today I have life to live, in Jesus’ name.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” — Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
